| Tim Robinson - Co-host
Tim Robinson has been writing and telling stories for his entire
career.
After starting as a newspaper writer when he was a teenager,
Tim later moved into public relations
then advertising
and,
finally, to television.
Tim joined "California Heartland" in November 2002.
Before that, his career path coincidentally took a few of the
same turns as that of "California Heartland" reporter
Pat McConahay. They both worked - at different times - for the
same stations in Reno, Nevada and Sacramento.
Tim's first on-air job was as a news reporter at KTVN, the
CBS affiliate in Reno. After almost a decade there, Tim moved
to Sacramento and joined the staff at Fox affiliate KTXL where
he was a weekend anchorman and news reporter. His primary interest,
though, was writing and reporting feature stories.
In fact, Tim was presented with an Emmy Award in 2000 in the
category Light News Feature. The piece was a two-part, in-depth
look at the unseen world of germs all around us.
Now, Tim can primarily be seen hosting and reporting for "California
Heartland", although he also contributes stories to another
KVIE production, "Central Valley Chronicles".
Tim is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno, where
he won his first award for writing when he was named outstanding
columnist in a regional college newspaper competition.
Over the years, Tim has volunteered countless hours to various
organizations.
He is married to a television news reporter and makes his home
in Sacramento.
