Patricia McConahay

Patricia
McConahay brings talent, a warm personality and substantial experience in broadcast
journalism to her work for California Heartland.
McConahay has served as television news anchor and reporter at KTXL (Sacramento), KTVN
(Reno), as well as for radio stations KPNW (Eugene, Oregon), KINS (Eureka) and reported
for KCBS-AM (San Francisco). She has produced many outstanding documentaries and specials
for KVIE, such as the Arts Alive series and interview programs on community issues. From
1985 to 1989, Pat was "the voice of Channel 6" providing voice-overs for the
station's announcements, identification and narration for many of its programs. She has
also been on the other side of the microphone, representing California's governmental
agencies, associations and politicians, as press secretary and communications director.
An accomplished producer, Pat has won many awards for her work, including the
California Teachers Association Best Education Coverage Award and Sigma Delta Chi Awards
for stories on the wine industry and various news series. Her award-winning documentaries
include: Sacramento's Hmong: The Lost Refugees, Hospice: A Caring Way to Die and CSEA:
Through the Years.
Pat McConahay is actively involved in many community organizations as President of the
Board of Directors for the Sacramento Vocational Services and Board Member for the
International Association of Business Communicators, Sacramento Chapter.
