Winter Festivals

It may be hard to imagine now, but before long our hot, summer weather will begin to look wet and dreary. And if you want to escape the winter doldrums, check out these winter fairs and festivals in California.

Head to the Capay Valley northeast of San Francisco for the Almond Festival scheduled for February 28, 2000. Approximately 3,000-4,000 guests visit this festival year after year. The festival features great food, including almonds of all flavors. You will also want to enjoy the California crafts featured at the festival.

East meets West in the Sacramento Delta town of Isleton for the Chinese New Year Festival the first weekend in March. The Chinese were key in developing the Delta’s rich agricultural heritage. Isleton is a community known for a good time as virtually the entire town joins in the celebration of its Chinese roots.
