The line on the back of Jack Bezian's T-shirt reads, "And you thought I was not adventurous?" After visiting his Bezian Bakery in Southern California, we know better.
Jack is an Armenian baker who likes to take risks. His interesting combinations have helped him develop the reputation as one of the best bread makers in the state. For example, when was the last time you were able to buy a loaf of Tarragon & Parmesan bread or Garlic & Cilantro bread at the supermarket?
Jack makes his breads with herbs that are either homegrown or purchased at local farmers' markets. He uses more than 30 different herbs in making his breads and rolls. Bezian Bakery will make about 1,000 loaves of bread per morning and Jack can often be found at neighborhood farmers' markets selling his efforts.
If you get the chance, be adventurous yourself and try one of Jack's creations. We're sure you won't be disappointed.
