The new Napa Valley Museum certainly celebrates the agricultural mainstay of the region, the wine industry as it educates the public on the fruit of the vine. The $3.5 million museum in Yountville culminates an eight-year dream in this region, one that offers visitors a state-of-the-art collection, "California Wine: The Science of an Art."
We caught a glimpse of the museum and the wine exhibit before its official opening earlier this year. It features 26 videodisc players, 24 monitors and 11 audio speakers to teach the public about wine.
The 40-thousand-square-foot museum also features art celebrating the area's immigrants who contributed so much to the area's agricultural heritage.
The new Napa Valley Museum is located at 55 Presidents Circle, Yountville, California, adjacent to the Veterans Home of California - nine miles north of the town of Napa on Highway 29. The phone number is (707) 944-0500.
